LOCATION & FILMING
The Britannia Shoreditch — A Location Like No Other
Cinematic Light. Historic Bones. Rockstar Soul.
The Britannia isn’t just another rental space. Once an East End pub, now a private creative hideaway—alive with history, layered in character, and built for total control. From fashion shoots to film sets, editorial campaigns to music videos, it’s a dream location that delivers atmosphere, flexibility, and visual depth—with none of the usual production headaches.
Whether you’re shooting a feature film, an indie lookbook, a commercial, a podcast, or a celebrity editorial, The Britannia Shoreditch offers a setting that feels lived-in, iconic, and visually unforgettable. There’s no other house in London like it.
Every inch of The Britannia tells a story. The former pub bones are still there: the tall ceilings, original wood floors, exposed brick, curved bar, and wide sash windows. But it’s also been lovingly reimagined with layers of texture, colour, and design. The result is a house that looks and feels both editorial and authentic.
Visual features include:
• A double-height dining area with vintage table seating 14
• Moody, characterful walls in chalky tones and natural textures
• Velvet sofas, curated art, antique lighting
• A chef’s kitchen with open shelving, brass taps, and deep marble worktops
• Vintage glassware, props, records, and styling details throughout
• Beautiful natural light in every room
There’s nothing staged or sterile. This is not a white-cube hire space. It’s a mood.
The Boudoir Dressing Room
One of the biggest selling points for production teams is our newly added boudoir-style dressing room, connected to the upstairs master suite. It’s soft, romantic, and practical—perfect as a makeup room, styling area, green room, or crash pad for talent.
Designed for ease and comfort:
• Large antique mirrors with soft lighting
• Velvet seating, clothes rails, full-length mirror
• Natural daylight and curtains for light control
• Direct access to bathrooms and wardrobe space
• Can be used as a dressing suite, green room, or 7th guest space
It’s especially ideal for fashion shoots, bridal campaigns, film crew prep, and video interviews where talent needs somewhere calm, comfortable, and close.
Flexible Layouts & Visual Variety
While the house is cohesive in mood and tone, each space offers a different vibe—making it perfect for shoots that need variety without moving locations.
• The kitchen/dining space is ideal for food shoots, lifestyle content, or kitchen product features
• The rooftop terrace (complete with wood-fired pizza oven) gives outdoor urban energy with privacy
• The master bedroom has a freestanding bathtub in the middle of the room—pure cinematic indulgence
• The upstairs lounge has a softer, boho editorial vibe with vintage rugs and bold colours
• The Georgian façade and entrance maintain the house’s historic pub soul, great for establishing shots
Need to move furniture? We’re flexible. Want to set up lighting rigs or backdrops? No problem. We’ll work with you to create a floor plan that works.
The Britannia has already hosted:
• Fashion lookbooks and e-comm content
• Editorial shoots for independent designers
• Music videos and short films
• Brand launch campaigns
• Product photography
• Bridal content and hair/makeup tutorials
• Podcasts and influencer collabs
• Behind-the-scenes ‘day in the life’ series
• Intimate interviews and talk show set-ups
It’s particularly ideal for fashion, lifestyle, interiors, wellness, and beauty shoots—though its gritty East End energy also makes it great for dramatic storytelling.
Total Privacy, Full Control
When you book The Britannia for a shoot, you get the whole space. No interruptions, no public footfall, no neighbours' walking through. That means sound control, security, and flexibility.
Plus, it comes with:
• Easy street access for loading/unloading
• Ground floor and first floor shooting locations
• Rooftop for aerials or atmospheric shots
• Late-night permission if needed
• High-speed Wi-Fi for live-streaming or remote direction
• Optional use of kitchen/styling elements as props
We know production is fast-moving and chaotic. This house is designed to flex with you.
A Location That Feels Real
So many filming venues feel sterile, over-produced, or just plain soulless. The Britannia is different. It’s full of personality and layered stories. It still feels like a real home, but with the scale and visual impact of a film set.
Shoot here, and you’re surrounded by:
• Brick Lane graffiti and historic architecture
• The Truman Brewery’s creative complex
• Redchurch Street’s fashion and design stores
• Columbia Road’s flower market
• Victorian alleys, Georgian water houses, East End character
If you need exterior shots, you’re in one of the most iconic filming locations in London.
Need an overnight stay for the crew?
The Britannia sleeps six in two main rooms, and a seventh in the connected dressing room. That means your talent or crew can rest on-site—no rushing out to hotels, no post-wrap travel logistics.
We can even arrange breakfast in the morning, or full catering during the day, if needed.
